With over a decade of tutoring and mentorship experience, Emma has helped students of all ages succeed in subjects like mathematics, biology, chemistry, and on standardized exams including the SAT and ACT.
She specializes in guiding students through the complex college and medical school application process—from developing standout personal statements to crafting compelling resumes.
Emma has worked extensively with high school and college students, tutoring AP Calculus, AP Biology, SAT/ACT math, as well as college-level calculus, biology, and organic chemistry. She has also mentored pre-med and pre-health students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, offering individualized support on coursework, research involvement, and application strategy. Her insights into the admissions process are grounded not only in personal experience, but also in her role as a former alumni interviewer for Columbia University.
In addition to her work with students, Emma has over eight years of research experience. She began her academic journey investigating neurodegenerative disease and spatial navigation using cell and mouse models, and later shifted her focus to health policy, poverty, and social inequality. At Columbia, Emma was a researcher at The Center on Poverty and Social Policy, contributing to projects published in top journals including Nature Human Behaviour and The Lancet Regional Health. Before medical school, she completed a two-year health economics research fellowship at Harvard University. Since being in medical school, Emma has conducted research at the intersection of cardiology, women's health, and health disparities.
Outside of academics, Emma is an avid cyclist and enjoys singing, painting, and spending time with friends. She is deeply passionate about social advocacy, mentorship, and empowering students to reach their goals with confidence.

Student Testimonials:
"As a scared first-year at Columbia University, I was very fortunate to have Emma assigned as my mentor through the Columbia Mentoring Initiative. Though she was only tasked to work with me for the year, she has since managed to stay an important presence in my life. Over the past four years, Emma has helped me find clarity on my professional path, make crucial academic decisions, and reach important personal realizations. During the final two years of my undergraduate career, I served as the co-chair of the Columbia Mentoring Initiative, keeping at heart everything that Emma first passed down to me. If you have a chance to work with Emma, jump at the opportunity—you won't regret it."
